Capoeira, music and percussion workshops with Mestre Marreta, Mestre Gil Velho and Flávia Araça (Rio de Janeiro), Mestre Esquisito (Brasilia), Mestre Joao Angoleiro and Lena dos Santos (Belo Horizonte), Professor Filosofo and several other guests Workshops and activities around nature, food and water (Éta-nós project). Swimming, hiking, horse riding, fishing, having fun!

Capoeira Easter Meeting Amsterdam with many masters, teachers and students from Brazil and Europe.
Four days of capoeira training, music and dance classes, capoeira rodas for everybody to participate. Masters, teachers and students from all academies are welcome.
Everday there will be Brazilian food, live Brazilian music. We will also show Brazilian films and serve fresh caipirinha's!

Our Fazenda Mandacarú is an ecological farm, with respect for the original vegetation. Since 2003 step by step the farm has started working on a small scale with cattle, horses, poultry and other live stock and fruit plantations. Of course, all food and materials are 100% non-toxic and natural.
Guests at the Fazenda are more than welcome to take a look at the farming activities. You might even be invited to help out for a day at the land, which will often be rewarded with an unforgettable barbecue, Brazilian style...
Project Impurrão - 'Push in the back'
The Impurrão project will get a new PUSH this year!
Since capoeira, sports, music and dance are the most successful activities in Escola de Capoeira Berimbau de Ouro, we decided to focus on those elements in our next project. Former students from the school have become professional teachers, musicians, acrobats and sportsmen and the activities keep attracting youngsters and children from the neighbourhood in Montes Claros. Our teachers are also active in other poor and dangerous areas of the city.
Capoeira, music and all connected activities help structure the children's lives, make them aware of their physical condition and the need to cooperate. And it keeps them from the streets, where crack and other dangers are always present.
Impurrão II
From 2011 till 2013 we hope to realize some new and 'old' activities in the school. A new dojo (a place to train judo, boxing and other martial arts), some new musical instruments for a music course and maybe a music group. We hope to support the teaching competences of our teachers and create more 'satellite' training places in the city.
The first Impurrão project In 2007 and 2008, together with the municipality of Montes Claros several special courses were organized with financial support of Kindermissionswerk Die Sternsinger from Germany (www.sternsinger.org)
Apart from the regular capoeira classes, children learned to make music instruments, decorative objects with recycled material, clothes, they learned the silk screen technique. There was also a regular percussion class. The women of the neighbourhood were invited to join the hair dressers course. Unfortunately the elections of a new city council in November 2008 put everything on hold, hopefully the Prefeitura of Montes Claros wants to continue working with us on this very nice project.
